Friend's Health Connection
Since its inception in 1988 by 16-year-old
founder and lupus patient Roxanne Black-Weisheit, Friends’ Health
Connection has networked over 10,000 patients worldwide. In addition
to networking, they also provide educational programs at hospitals for
patients and staff about various diseases, often featuring prominent
lecturers. Roxanne and Friends’ Health Connection are the recipients
of numerous scholarships, honors and awards, such as the Daily Point
of Light Award from President George H.W. Bush and the Giraffe Foundation
Award for people who "stick their necks out to help others.” This
award-winning organization helps individuals cope with illness through
the power of friendship. Make powerful connections happen; help this
idea expand in your area.
