Points of Light Foundation

In 1990, President George H.W. Bush directed the formation of the Points of Light Foundation to encourage and recognize the spirit of volunteerism. The Foundation helps coordinate and acknowledge the more than 100 million volunteers who work through a host of inspirational programs under its umbrella, which include: 1-800-VOLUNTEER.org, 50+ Volunteering Initiative, AmeriCorps Promise Fellows Program, Disaster Preparedness & Volunteers, THE EXTRA MILE, FamilyCares, Seasons of Service and Kids Care Clubs. Light a candle, send a flicker of hope, shine bright in the darkness.
